A better day !

Thank you dear blogger friends for your encouragement! It means more than you know! I am having a better day today. As I think back about things that have happened in the past it seems that I panic at first then pull my self together and get on with whatever has to be done. I think the biggest concern for me is that I will not be able to do all the things for my family that I have always done, baking cakes, cooking holiday meals with everyones favorite dishes, but I will figure it out. I have been on the Atkins diet since diagnosed and my b.s. levels are down and weight is falling off! Another thing that frightened me was that I know several people that have lost limbs and eyesight to this disease, but I am trusting God and believing that this will not happen. Again thank you all for your kind comments and concern!

  1. Glad you are feeling better about it all. I think when you check out recipes you'll find there are still many tempting things you can fix for your family and that you can enjoy too. Sometimes it's all a matter of portion size. Trusting God is all important in any of our lives.

  3. I have been on the Atkins Diet and I have lost 26 lbs, my diabetes is under control and I do not have to take medication for that. My kidneys are getting back to normal and my blood pressure is down also. I am so proud that you are taking control, you can do it.
I feel so much better and have more energy.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  6. You can still do many things for your family, you will just have to watch what you eat. So glad you are feeling better and look at you losing weight!

  7. Hi Elizabeth. I was just reading back on some of your posts and just now finding out about your diagnosis. It is so hard to hear something like that just out of the blue when you are expecting everything to be fine, but time will make it easier, especially when you get the hang of fixing your foods and knowing the right things to eat. It sounds like the diet is going well for you and that will help a lot. Keep up the good work and things will get much easier..Happy Tuesday..Judy
