It has been a long 3 weeks since I found out that I am diabetic. That has been all that I can think about regardless of where I am or what I am doing. I have made appointments with a podiatrist and diabetes clinic and eye specialist to see if there has been any damage done. I know I am in depression, as I have had that before. I pray that I can soon accept this condition and what ever the future holds.

You have been in my thoughts a lot this week my friend. I think you'll be able to handle this and do fine. Eating the foods you need to eat as a diabetic are the healthiest diet for anybody. I can't eat sugar at all. I have an allergic reaction to it so I have to pay attention to everything I eat. It's not easy but it's worth it. Sending you sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI have Celiac. I tried to ignore the whole thing. Since I was far from being thin, I thought I didn't have it. So, I have to watch gluten. So weird as when you order in a restaurant, I swear they have no idea. Your meat is totally dry and they seem to eliminate the veggies. It's hard but you can do it. (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, you can over come your condition if you stay on your diet, lose weight and exercise. I do not have to take medication anymore, as I have cut my carbs to only 20 a day and really watch what I eat. I love sweets, but not anymore. I check my blood each morning and it never high its from 80 to 98. My kidney's are functioning so much better. You can do it - just make up your mind to keep it under control. Good luck and if you cut down on your carbs you will feel so much better.

Bless your heart. You will come to terms with this and you will get a lot of help from doctors and specialists. this is not the end, and you might feel a whole lot better after you get this under control.

Since they know so much more these days than they used to about diabetes I'm sure you'll be able to cope and manage to have a wonderful life. Sounds like you are taking the right steps to staying healthy. Take it one day at a time. Best way I know how to live.
