Looking forward to the " Simple Pleasure " of Summer!

It

is 85 degrees and raining at my house and we do need some rain. The last few weeks it has been raining all around us but not here! We have been running the sprinklers every day to keep the grass green. It is still May but seems like the middle of summer, it has been so hot! I think we skipped Spring! School will be out in a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to all the Summer things, picnics, swimming, movies, boating and spending time with the Grandchildren, family and friends !

Beach Boys, Soccer, NASCAR and Family !

Friday night the Beach Boys were here in concert, even though it was rain delayed for an hour, it was a wonderful evening.  Saturday was Grandson Tyler's soccer game with all 4 of my Grandchildren there, I love having them all together! Saturday evening Jim and I enjoyed a wonderful seafood platter at our local family restaurant, we have learned if we share a meal like this, it does not spike my glucose and is just enough for both of us. We came home and watched the NASCAR race together! A very nice weekend ! Loving my life !

A Happy Mother's Day

I Came home from Mother's Day lunch with daughter and her family to find this beautiful hydrangea at my door, no card but I think I know the sweet neighbor that left it.

My Mother's day began with this bouquet of flowers and breakfast made by my husband for me.

We met my daughter and her family for lunch at my favorite restaurant. I received several nice gifts and enjoyed that time so much with them. I missed my other daughter and her children but since her move 6 hours away, they could not be with us, but we did celebrate earlier in the week with them at my house. Its not the same as having them all together under the same roof. I am thankful for each of them and all the times we do have together.
 I am blessed !

Last weekend we had out of town guests Friday night. We took them out to a local restaurant near our home and then for a drive to show some of our little towns charm! Saturday after breakfast they had to leave for home. I had a nice quite day reflecting on the wonderful visit we had. Sunday morning we went on a day trip through some back roads and checked out a quaint little restaurant we had heard about and then on down to the Coast to St. George Island. We sat on the beach awhile, I walked up and down the beach picking up some lovely seashells. On the way home that late afternoon we stopped and visited with my twin brothers for awhile. It was a wonderful day. I am really learning to enjoy the little things and savor each one. My daughter is visiting from her new home in Baton Rouge . I cooked dinner for her and her children last night, even though I could not eat anything but a salad. I enjoyed cooking for them and seeing them enjoying it all. Life is good !
