It was 29 degrees when we got to the Grandson's soccer tournament but it warmed up to the 60's with sunshine, so it was a great day for soccer! Sunday we went to St. Marks and toured the Nina and Pinta, replicas of the ships used by Christopher Columbus on his voyage across the Atlantic in 1492.It was another weekend filled with "simple pleasures". I know that as Jim's COPD gets worse there will be a time when we cannot do these things,so it makes them all the more special!
I agree with you! It's best to do things while we can as we get older! We are beginning to think about vacation plans for this year. We always go somewhere in September. Last year it was Colorado. Perhaps we will go back to Arkansas again.
ReplyDeleteLoved going along on your tour - blog style!
What a fun and interesting weekend you enjoyed. I always love to go watch the grands play soccer. It is interesting to note the differences in soccer season around the country. Ours is in the autumn. It was also interesting to see the reproductions of the Nina and Pinta...very pretty pics. It is always good to get out and about when we feel up to it. We take our best days and go for it!
ReplyDeleteThat is one thing I like about Florida, it may be cool, but most time you can count on that SUN!
ReplyDeleteLOve the Pinta, there was a time I owuld have loved to worked aboard, but alas those days have gone. I still love the craftsmanship!
Looks like a fun weekend. I really like your hair. Enjoy your warm weather. It is 7 degrees here.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had such a nice weekend. It is nice to feel it as it warms up with the sun. A Florida winter perk for sure!
ReplyDeleteWe're often in the 20's here and much lower as of late. Warming up to 80 though won't happen here until summer time. Glad you share the pictures. The last one especially is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful weekend here. We hiked on Sunday afternoon and it was in the 70s. Cool today! Hugs to you both sweet friend, Diane
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice you had a great adventure touring those boats. I bet it is chilly for you today as we are only supposed to get into the 50's here near Clearwater.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
How nice to be able to see the replica ships! I'm always amazed at how small these things were that crossed the ocean!

Good to take advantage of the nice weather and take in some history. I think it's neat to be able to see these replicas.
ReplyDeleteSupposed to snow at around three this afternoon here, but won't amount to much.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Palatka Fl. to visit some of his old school buddies. That will be in May so the weather should be very nice then.

It looks beautiful and I would love to see bare ground again. The snow is pretty but we have had too much.
