What do you think ?

Oh my, yesterday was a terrible day for me. I went 8 hours without cable, internet or telephone. My husband had the car, my neighbors were all at work. I did not know what to do with myself. I could not watch my favorite t.v. show, check facebook, blog, play games on my tablet or talk on the telephone. I then realized something is very wrong with this. I had no idea that I was so dependent on these things. What did people do 100 years ago? Is life better now with these things,I am not really sure. I am considering taking a break from it all and see what happens.

  1. Elizabeth, I can't even imagine being without all those things. We are very spoiled. I do love quiet and sitting with a good book or magazine, but, I'm afraid, it would get old for me very fast. Especially no TV..Hope you have a quiet and beautiful Valentine's Day..Judy

  2. I think it sounds nice, I would have read or knit, but actually I would have cleaned so my house was sparkling and then I would not feel bad when all my devices were turned back on. Hope you have a better day today.

  3. I'd miss my internet too. I do love to read though and as long as I had a good book I'd be reading but not for 8 hours. It does make you realize just how dependent we are on the internet for sure.

  4. I'd miss all of those things, too. I don't know why we fret about being like people were a hundred years ago. Did they fret about being like people a hundred years before them? I really think that we need balance in ALL things. Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

  5. We have become very dependent on these things. Hard to imagine 8 minutes without them much less 8 hours! Glad that it was not an extended outage! We were lucky here, no outages. The lights flickered, but we did not lose power.

Thank you so much for following and visiting me! I am so pleased to "meet" you! Following you now and look forward to visiting you again soon!

  8. Ha! I've gone through this a number of times and always react the same way you did. It takes me a couple days to detox from it all. Aren't we all silly in our techno addictions? :) Blessings, Debra (And your Valentine weekend sounded so perfect)
