TROPICAL STORM DEBBY

Debby dumped 15 inches of rain on us yesterday, for awhile my front and back yard looked like a lake but the water has gone down at our house this morning. We have friends who are having to move furniture up on blocks or remove from their homes because the water is still rising where they live. We needed rain, a lot of the lakes around here are drying up but we did not need this much this fast! A lot of people are still without electricity in the county. Ours never stayed off more than 1 hr. at the time but was off and on all day yesterday and last night. I actually cooked on my gas stove by candle light. So thankful there was no loss of life and that we faired as well as we did through this storm and praying that the water will recede before property is lost. Having lived on the coast all my life, we have seen much worse than this by Mother nature but it is always a little scary.

  1. I'm glad you had no water damage. That is a terribly lot of rain to come done all at once. We need rain here, but there is no chance a tropical storm like yours will come our way. Take good care and hope that storm is soon done and over.

  2. I'm glad you are OK! You sure got dumped on with the rain. The sun is out this morning...I hope it's shining there, too! Hugs!

  5. Thanks everyone we ended up with 30 inches before it was over. It came up to our porch but did not damage anything but flower beds. We have some friends who lost everything.

  6. That's a lot of rain! I've never seen that much rain. We've had to pray for it and last night finally got an inch. Praying for your friends to feel the peace of God in the midst of their loss.

  7. Hi, Elizabeth. I'm glad you didn't lose your power for too long. Except for that Sunday when we had torrential rain, Debbue was bit too bad for us. In Crystal River, there was flooding but we did okay. Never lost power either. But it was a mess!
