Enjoying the "Simple Pleasures" again !

It has been over 2 months since I have been on blogger. Today I will try to catch up with everyone. The last 2 months I have been busy doing things with Jim. It has been wonderful and I feel so blessed to still have him with me. He is back to his old self only better. He knows how close he came to death and that the prayers of so many people are what saved him.We have found a new church and he does not want to miss a service. We saw his Heart surgeon yesterday and he called him "The miracle man" The Drs. know that they did all they could for him but with all the complications he had did not expect him to survive and certainly not be in as good of health as he is now. We celebrated our 31 Anniversary this past weekend and will celebrate his 75th birthday next month. These celebrations are so wonderful, a few weeks ago I did not think that he would be here for them.

He is home ! ! !

I have not been on blogger the last 2 weeks but things are finally getting back to normal. I was able to bring Jim home from the Rehab/hospital Monday. He is walking with a walker with me holding on to him. He lost 40 lbs and all muscles but he will get it back. He already seems better just being home. We have been out and about in the car all week. I had an appointment 100 miles away to have a wisdom tooth pulled Tuesday so we made that journey and all went well.Friday we went back to the Cardiologist and had Echo , EKG, chest x-ray. Everything looked good. The Dr. told him it had to be a miracle that he was doing so well. His breathing has not improved much yet and he lost his short term memory but I am just so happy that I have him back. Today we went to a fish fry in the City Park. Tomorrow we are going out to eat with all the family for Father's Day ! Thank you all so much for all the prayers!

2 weeks of rehab. it has proven to be a roller coaster ride. 1 step forward then 2 steps backwards. I am believing that he will soon be up walking and able to come home. The youngest Grandchild graduated from VPK last night. There are still many joys in the midst of all this! Thank you all for your prayers, cards and calls they mean more than you know.

Moved to rehab/hosp.

We moved to a rehab/hospital this week. His recovery continues to be slow and difficult as the Dr. predicted. I continue to stay with him every night and sleep on a cot in his room. The last 2 nights we slept almost through the night. They say he will probably be there 3 weeks. His COPD keeps them from being very agressive in his therapy. He still does not want to eat. I bring dinner in for both us each night and we eat and watch wheel of fortune, like we did every night at home. I will be so happy when he is able to come home.

Jim is continuing to recover in the hospital and hopefully he will be well enough to go to a rehab facility soon,so they can get him on his feet and walking. It was not suppose to be this way and I can not imagine why it happened like this but I am trusting that God will give him a complete recovery and that he will soon be home again.

This was not suppose to happen !

Surgery did not go well last week, actually it was 10 days ago today that he went in for the new TAVR procedure to replace his aortic valve, he was suppose to be out of surgery in 2 hours and home in 5 days. The new procedure did not work and they had to do open heart surgery, he was in surgery 9 hours and today is the 10th day in ICU I have spent every night in there with him just coming home every day or every other day to shower and change clothes. Thanks for all the prayers, I firmly believe that is the only reason he is still here. Drs. say recovery will be slow and difficult so please continue to pray for a speedy and complete recovery.

We will be checking into the hospital Thursday for Heart Valve surgery on Friday. If all goes well we will be back home Monday. I say we because as a friend of mine says Jim and I are joined at the hip. I will not be able to go in the operating room with him but I will be at the hospital with him, so please keep us in your prayers. Hopefully this will give him a new lease on life and we will have many more happy years together.
