At the beach !

We spent the last weekend of 2012 at the beach with wonderful friends, even though it was cold, it was a lot of fun! Sue and I have been friends since we were 12 years old. Our children and Grandchildren have played together. We can go long periods of time without seeing each other and always pickup like we have never been apart.

A wonderful Christmas !

Christmas came and went so fast, I wish it had lasted a little longer. My house was full of loved ones, we enjoyed exchanging gifts, watching the Grandchildren play and eating too much! Now its just me and hubby with our dog and cat and wonderful new memories! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I am now looking forward to the wonderful New Year!

Secret Santa !

I joined in with the" Secret Santa" that Suzanne ( Colorado Lady ) has been hosting. It was a lot of fun, I had a good time shopping for my friend and hope she enjoys the things I chose for her. I received my package yesterday, it included some of my favorite things: A Christmas Tea Book, Holiday Tea, cookie wafers, a candle (that I am burning now) it smells wonderful, Teapot napkin rings (these are adorable) some vintage homemade things from 40's and 50's and a note about each gift! I can tell she put a lot of thought in to what I would like,thank you so much Caroline!

I had my three youngest Grandchildren all weekend. ( The older one is 15 and thought he was too old to join us for this this year) We made cookies, watched Christmas movies and put up the Christmas tree!I downsized the tree this year and I am not so sure I like it, but it does look better than it does in the photos! I do enjoy doing these kind of things with them! I am going to try to post pictures we took and hope they post!

I am posting some of my Christmas decor, my camera or the photographer did not do such a good job of taking the pics but here is what I have been doing this past weekend.This Sunday I will have the grandchildren over to decorate the tree, I do enjoy doing that with my grandchildren! Oh as you will see, I have roses blooming along with my Christmas decorations, something just does not seem right about that,I would much rather have snow but not much chance of that with lows of 50 and highs of 80 we have forecast for today!Well pics will come later. I had to have computer worked on and setting are now different and I cannot find the pics I just down loaded !

Playing house !

Thanksgiving decor is down and now the Christmas decorating begins! I love this, I recently read that women love decorating their homes because we are getting to  "play house" I have always called it piddling but I think playing house is pretty accurate. So I am now looking forward to playing house this week!

Early Thanksgiving !

I have the house to myself this morning. I am busy getting my Thanksgiving dinner ready for tomorrow and listening to Christmas music, life is good! We are celebrating our Thanksgiving early this year because some had to work Thanksgiving day this year. So for the first time we will have our family gathering early and on Thanksgiving Day we will be going to the mts. in Tenn. and N.C.  I am so excited! We had a trip planned earlier this month but had car problems and could not go as planned. I have never gone anywhere on a major holiday before, family always come to me, and I love that, but it is exciting that this year I will be going away for the holiday! Earlier this month, I was sad that all my family could not be here Thanksgiving Day, but it has all worked out better than I could imagine. I get my family thanksgiving and my trip on thanksgiving! God is so good, I do believe that he worked this just for me!
